The Saga Continues
I have an exciting update to share about Goodnight, Child of God but first let's jump right into Part 2 of Saint George and the Dragon.
If you missed Part 1, you can read it here:
Saint George and the Dragon - Pt. 2
The King and council gathered together We sworn to protect and to duty fettered Yet hearing how monstrous the dragon be How swift, how quick I saw courage flee The chamber filled with cries of fearful men Such that order could not be found within Then slipping silent into our midst came one With a deceitful heart and sly forked tongue He slowly wound along a crooked path Parting guards and swords as blades of grass Until the serpent's servant stood face to face With the King now wrapped in a grim embrace

As I’ve been writing this story from the life of St. George, I've been thinking a lot about why I wrote Goodnight, Child of God.
The first two parts of the poem have been almost solely focused on introducing the evil which St. George will face. The foes are treacherous, but we know how the story ends.
Often it seems like evil will have the last word. Yet we have hope for Christ is Risen! He has destroyed the power of sin and death and scattered His enemies. In His abundant love for us, He has given us the Church, the witness of the saints and everything seen and unseen which comprises the Kingdom of Heaven. Even in the midst of what can feel like unvanquishable darkness, the light of Christ draws us to a life of eternal hope.
This is what Goodnight, Child of God is about. My prayer is that this reality will be written on the hearts of those who read, hear, and see the truths contained within the book and they will be filled with peace and hope.
Please pray for me and for the upcoming release of the book. As always, thank you for your support!
With gratitude,
Drew Chancey
