It’s always exciting to celebrate the achievements of others! I was overjoyed when I saw the announcement for my friend Barron Ryan's debut book titled Honey, If It Wasn’t for You.

Barron is an immensely talented pianist, entertainer, and storyteller. He now adds the title of author to his long list of creative accomplishments.

I had the pleasure of receiving a copy of Honey, If It Wasn't for You ahead of its release on August 1st.

As soon as I had read the book and listened to the song, I knew I had to share it with you all.

Reflections on Honey, If It Wasn’t for You

The story behind the song is really powerful. Over the past few days, I've been reflecting on some of the beautiful elements of the story.

As a husband, this story inspires me to cherish the time I have with my wife, to strive to love her more each day and to serve her in whatever work I undertake.

And if I had a thousand years to write ‘em all again

This is still the way that it would be

For you still hold the treasure

To each and every line

And your love song still keeps calling out to me.

As an author, it reminds me of the impact works of beauty can have in the lives of others but also that I may never know how or when a connection will be made.

Lastly, the story has been an opportunity for me to cultivate gratitude.

I am thankful for friendships and the beauty and goodness they inspire in our hearts. For the music, art, and poetry which grow out of these connections we make with one another.
