Mother of Hope
World and winter in darkness lie enclaved Hope begins as the Virgin elects to say From darkness of death we shall be set free May Eternal Light bear forth from me As the star leads the Magi to Bethlehem Heaven's lights gather in a golden band To crown the humble Lady below Who with radiant light of hope doth glow Rejoice! For on this day Christ is born Cradled is He by whom worlds were formed Yet held tenderly in our Mother's embrace Hope dwells with us and we behold His face
